If you know Malleswaram, you know how busy Sampige Road gets. We are located at 452 R S Plaza, right on the first floor. It’s easy to find because we are directly above the Kids Kingdom toy store. You can usually hear the sounds of toys or children playing downstairs while you’re waiting. It’s situated right between the 6th and 7th Cross, which is a very crowded part of the neighborhood. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, and the elevator can be a bit slow on rainy days. Inside, the plaza is a bit older, so the hallways have that specific smell of old concrete and cleaning supplies. Our office is fairly basic. We have rows of chairs and some eye charts on the walls that have been there forever. We see a lot of people who have lived in Malleswaram their whole lives. They come in and talk about how the road has changed since they were kids. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze when it’s a Saturday morning, and the sun hits the front windows really hard in the evening. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a coffee machine. Usually, there’s just a water cooler in the corner that rattles. It’s a practical place for getting your eyes checked without any extra fuss. We just try to get through the list of patients before the market crowds get too thick outside.
