Avenue Road is just one of those places where you always have to watch your step because of the crowds. We have been at Sherpur Chowk 160 for a while now, and the building has definitely seen better days. It is not a fancy corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. Instead, it is mostly just us, a lot of paperwork, and the constant sound of the traffic outside. Every morning, the first person in has to deal with the heavy metal shutters, which always seem to stick halfway up. It is a bit of a workout before the coffee even happens. The light in the back office is a little dim, but we have grown used to it over the years. People often get lost trying to find us since the numbering on the street is a bit weird, but once they see the sign at 160, they know they are in the right spot. There is a small tea stall just a few doors down that everyone goes to around eleven o'clock. It is a good place to stand for five minutes and breathe some air that is not full of office dust. Most of the desks are piled with files, and the chairs have those little tears in the fabric from years of use. We do not spend much time worrying about the decor. We just come in, do what needs to be done, and head home when the sun goes down.
