Standard Forgings

Standard Forgings is tucked away in the PMM Compound on Mysore Main Road. We’re at Plot No. 4, 4th Cross, which is right across from where the old tolgate used to be. Forging is heavy work, and our place shows it. It’s loud, it’s hot, and there is a lot of heavy machinery involved. We’ve been at this location for years, and the neighborhood has grown up around us. We handle a lot of metal shaping here. The floors are concrete and usually have a bit of soot on them from the furnaces. It’s not a place for nice clothes. We spend our days dealing with hammers and heat. The guys working here are tough and used to the conditions. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. We just take the orders that come through the gate. Being on the main road is good for transport, though the traffic can be a headache in the afternoons. If you drop by, you'll likely hear the thud of the presses before you even see the sign. We just keep our heads down and do the forging work. It’s a simple business model. We get the raw material, heat it up, and beat it into the right shape. It’s what we’ve always done. The compound is a bit crowded, but we make it work for us. We're just regular people doing a heavy job. If the gates are open, we are usually inside working through the day's pile.
