Sree Silks

Sree Silks is located up on the first floor of the Sree Raghavendra Market. The address is 125/127, right on Avenue Road. You have to climb a narrow set of stairs to get to our door. The market is always full of people pushing past each other, but it gets a bit quieter once you get upstairs to our level. We have a decent amount of space for our stock compared to some other shops. It’s mostly just shelves and stacks of different fabrics. We spend a lot of time sorting through colors and checking for any problems with the weave. It’s a basic shop. We don’t have fancy mannequins or anything like that. We just show the material to whoever walks in and let them decide. Being in the market means we see a lot of different people every day. Some are regular buyers, others are just passing through for the first time. I usually have tea brought up from the stall downstairs while I work on the books. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. The walls are covered in small samples so people can see the range. Sometimes the fans don't work properly, so it gets a bit warm in the afternoons. We just keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze there is from the street. It isn't a high-end boutique, just a place where we sell silk.
