Smile Electronics

Our shop, Smile Electronics, is right on Banaswadi Main Road in Bangalore. If you know the area, you know how 2nd Main can get pretty jammed up with traffic in the evenings. We’ve been set up here at number 5 for some time now, mostly dealing with whatever electronic issues people bring through the door. It’s a bit of a crowded space because we have parts and tools scattered around where we need them. We spend most of our time looking at broken gadgets or trying to find a specific component that someone needs for a project. It’s not one of those shiny showrooms you see in the malls. It’s more of a practical place where we get our hands dirty fixing things. Sometimes the power goes out or the rain makes things a bit slow, but we just keep at it. People from the neighborhood stop by to ask questions or get their stuff repaired. We don’t use any big fancy machines, just the basic soldering irons and testing kits that have served us well. The shop isn't much to look at from the outside, but we know where everything is. It gets a bit noisy with the buses going past on the main road, but you get used to it after a while. We just open up in the morning and see what the day brings. It’s a simple way to make a living here in Bangalore, and we like being right in the middle of the local action.
