Singing Drums

We are over in Koramangala 53, and if you come by, you’ll probably hear us before you see us. It’s a small place packed with drums and percussion gear. There are kits stacked up in the corners and sticks all over the tables. It gets pretty dusty in here because of all the wood and the people coming in and out. We aren't a corporate shop with fancy displays. It’s more of a place where things are a bit cluttered. We spend our time tuning heads and fixing pedals that have seen better days. Koramangala is a loud part of town anyway, so our noise just blends in with the traffic and the crowds outside. Sometimes we just sit and play a bit when it’s quiet. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who know our way around a drum set. The walls have some old posters that are peeling at the edges. We keep a fan running because it gets warm with all the gear around. People stop by to ask about different sounds or just to try out a new snare. We don’t do any of that high-pressure sales stuff. If you like how it sounds, you like it. We have a lot of spare parts in jars and boxes that we dig through when someone needs a specific bolt. It’s a simple life, surrounded by rhythm and noise in the middle of Bengaluru.
