Silktex Ltd.

We’re based at 23-29 White Hse on St. Marks Rd. It’s an old building with a lot of character, though the stairs can be a bit of a pain when you're carrying heavy rolls of cloth. St. Marks Road is always full of life, and we’ve seen businesses come and go over the years. We’ve managed to stay put, mostly because we just keep doing what we’ve always done at Silktex Ltd. The office has big windows, but they’re usually a bit grimy from the city air. We don’t mind. Inside, it’s mostly just desks, phones, and samples of whatever we’re working on that week. There’s a kitchen in the back where the tap leaks a little, but we put a bucket under it and it’s fine. We spend hours on the phone talking to suppliers or trying to track down a shipment that’s running late. It’s not glamorous work. Sometimes we disagree about where to put a new shelf or who forgot to lock the back door, but we get over it pretty quick. We’re just a small group of people trying to keep things running smoothly. No one wears a suit here unless they really have to. We prefer being comfortable while we deal with the daily grind. It’s just how we operate at White Hse, and it seems to work for us even on the busiest days.
