Shankara Pipes India Pvt Ltd is based at 225 in the 3rd Block of HRBR Layout, over in Shivaramaiah Layout, Kalyan Nagar. We deal with pipes and fittings, as you can probably guess from the name. The yard is usually full of stacks of metal and PVC. It is a lot of heavy lifting and moving things around. We have a small office where we handle the billing and the phone calls. The air conditioner works when it feels like it, so we usually just leave the door open for a breeze during the day. Kalyan Nagar is a good spot, but the traffic near our turn can be a mess in the evenings. We have been supplying pipes to builders and plumbers around here for years. We aren't interested in fancy presentations or glossy brochures. We just show people what we have and tell them the price. It is a very practical business. Sometimes the delivery truck breaks down and we have to scramble to get things moved, but that is just part of the job. We have a few regulars who come in every week just to see what is new or to pick up a specific connector. We know most of them by name. It is a decent living and we take pride in knowing our inventory inside and out. We aren't trying to be more than what we are—just a reliable place to get pipes.
