Chickpet is always crowded, and our spot here on V Temple Street is no different. I’ve been around here for a while now, right near Manavarthapet. The shop at 52/4K isn't anything fancy to look at, just a place where we do our daily work and handle things for the people who stop by. Most days start pretty early because that’s when the trucks start moving and the streets get tight. You know how it is in this part of Bangalore, everyone is in a hurry and there’s always noise from the scooters outside. We just keep our heads down and get through the list of what needs doing. Some days are slower than others, which is nice because it gives us a chance to actually organize the shelves properly. It’s mostly just me and a couple of others making sure everything is where it should be. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but honestly, we’re too busy for that right now. We see a lot of the same faces every week, people from the neighborhood mostly. It’s just a normal workplace, really. Nothing special, just us doing what we know how to do on this busy street. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a bit, but we just open the doors wider and keep going. That’s just how life is in Chickpet. We’ve got our routine down and it works for us.
