Radha Krishna Silk House

We've been here at No. 40 Siddanna Lane for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot near Cubbonpet Cross, and if you know the area, you know how crowded it gets. We mostly deal with silk, keeping the shelves stocked with different patterns and colors that people ask for. My family has been doing this kind of work, so it just felt right to keep it going here. The shop isn't fancy, but we have enough space to show the material properly. Sometimes the morning starts slow, but by afternoon, the lane is packed with people looking for wedding clothes or gifts. We try to keep things organized, though it gets a bit messy when we have a lot of stock coming in from the weavers. It's a lot of manual work, moving rolls around and checking every piece for loose threads. People come in looking for something specific, and we spend a good chunk of the day just unfolding and folding fabrics back up. It’s what we do. The lighting inside isn't the brightest, but you can see the quality of the silk well enough under the tube lights. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop on the block, just a reliable place where locals can find what they need without a lot of fuss. It gets hot in the summer, but the fans keep us going while we chat with the regulars who have been coming to us for years.
