M. s. ramaiah Curie Centre Of Oncology is located within the M.s Ramaiah Memorial Hospital grounds. A lot of people still call us the Gokula Curie Cancer Centre because that was our name for a long time. It’s hard to get people to change what they call a place once they’re used to it. Being part of a big hospital means it’s always busy here. There are always people in the hallways and the sound of trolleys being pushed around. Our section is dedicated to oncology work, so it's a serious environment. The walls are a plain off-white, and the furniture is functional hospital style. We don’t spend money on fancy decorations because that's not why people are here. Finding a parking spot at the hospital can be a real struggle, so we see a lot of people looking frustrated when they finally walk in. We try to be quick with the paperwork, though there’s always a lot of it. The doctors and nurses are always on the move between different wards. It’s not the quietest place, but it’s where the work gets done. We have been operating here for years, and even with the name change, the core of what we do stays the same. It’s just a regular part of the larger hospital system.
