M. r. Silk International

We are up on the 2nd floor of Arco Towers on Lalbagh Road. M. r. Silk International is our small corner of the world. Lalbagh Road is usually packed with traffic, so we hear the car horns all day long through the windows. Inside, it’s a different story. We deal with a lot of silk, which is delicate work and requires focus. We aren't a massive operation with hundreds of employees. It's just a small team of us working here. We spend a lot of time looking at patterns and checking the weave of the fabric before it goes out. The 2nd floor location means we get a bit of a view, though it’s mostly just other buildings and the street below. We’ve been in No. 8 for quite a while now. The elevator in the building can be a bit moody and slow, so sometimes we just take the stairs to save time. It keeps us moving, I guess. We don't go for flashy advertisements or big billboards. Most of our business comes from people who have known us for years. It’s a steady pace. We don't like to rush things because you really can't rush silk work. We just show up, do the work, and head home when the sun goes down. It's a decent way to earn a living in a busy city like this. Nothing more, nothing less. It's just us working every day.
