We are located at No 234 on the 4th Floor of the Garudachar Complex in Chickpet. If you know Chickpet, you know how hectic it gets with all the shops and people. The Karnataka Hosiery & Garments Association is basically a hub for the people around here. It’s not a shop where you buy a single shirt. Instead, it’s a place where owners and workers come to talk about what’s happening in the garment trade. The office is often full of people sitting around a big table with old files and ledgers. We don't have any fancy air conditioning, just a few ceiling fans that work hard during the summer. It’s a bit of a climb to the 4th floor, but it keeps us moving. We’ve been here for a long time, helping to sort out issues between different businesses. It’s more of a community center than anything else. There’s usually a lot of talk about prices and new rules that affect the market. We don't have a glossy brochure or a mission statement on the wall. It’s just a place where we try to keep the industry together. Someone is always bringing in snacks or tea to share while we go over the day's news. It’s a very local way of doing things, and we’ve kept it that way for decades without any corporate fuss.
