Kakkar Spinning Mills

The mill is out here in Village-Mehrana, right along Bursham Road in Dahar. It is a bit of a drive from the main city, but the space is good for what we need. Kakkar Spinning Mills has been running in this spot for a long time. You can hear the machines from the road most mornings. It is dusty work, and the floors always have a bit of lint on them no matter how much we sweep. We have a lot of local guys working here who walk or bike in from the nearby houses. The air is different out here, more quiet until you get inside the gates. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist in a suit. Usually, you just find someone on the floor if you have a question. The rhythms of the machines dictate our day. When something breaks, we fix it ourselves. We don't really go for those modern management styles you see in books. It is just about keeping the spindles turning and making sure the trucks get loaded on time. The weather gets hot in the summer, making the shed feel like an oven, but we keep going. It is a plain way to make a living, but it is honest. We’ve been part of the landscape here for years, and we don't plan on moving.
