Our workshop is at No.17/4C in Madivala, right on the Rupena Agrahara section of Hosur Road. If you know the area, you know how crazy the traffic on Hosur Road can be. We are right in the thick of it. The garage is always full of vehicles in various stages of being fixed. We have tools scattered across the benches and oil stains on the floor that have been there for years. The sound of air compressors and wrenches is the soundtrack to our day. We spend most of our time in overalls, dealing with engines and brakes. It’s a tough job on the back and the hands, but we like being around the machinery. We have a small bench out front where customers sometimes sit and wait, watching the cars fly by on the main road. The dust from the street settles on everything, so we are constantly wiping down the windshields of the cars we finish. We don't have a receptionist; usually, whoever isn't under a car at that moment will come over to talk to you. Lunch is usually something quick from a nearby stall, eaten while sitting on a stack of tires. It’s a straightforward way to spend the day. We aren't worried about looking polished. We just want to get the vehicles back on the road so people can get where they are going. It’s greasy and loud, but it’s what we know.
