Anekal 2nd Phase in the Jigani Industrial Area is where you will find us at plot number 25. It is a bit of a drive to get out here, especially with all the heavy trucks moving in and out of the industrial zone throughout the day. The road gets really dusty during the dry months, and everything in the office ends up with a thin layer of grey on it no matter how much we clean. We deal with micro electronics here, so it is mostly people sitting at benches with soldering irons or looking at small components under lights. It’s not a fancy place. We have some machines running in the back that make a steady humming sound all day long. Lunch breaks usually happen at the small canteen nearby or people just bring their own boxes and eat at the tables. The power goes out sometimes, and we have to wait for the backup generator to kick in. It’s just the way things are in this part of Bangalore. We’ve been in this building for a good while now. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the daily orders to worry about that. Most of the staff live nearby or take the company bus. It’s a lot of repetitive work, checking circuits and making sure the parts are lined up right. We stay until the shift ends, then deal with the Jigani traffic on the way back home.
