Elechem Technik Pvt Ltd is based out in the Jigani Industrial Area. Our specific spot is at Navjivan on Ajwa Road, designated as 5 J. Being in an industrial area like Jigani means we are surrounded by factories and workshops of all kinds. It’s a very practical environment. We focus on technical and chemical aspects of the business, so there’s often a bit of a chemical smell in the air around the unit. The workspace is divided into a small office section and a much larger area for the technical equipment and processing. It’s a place where we wear boots and safety gear most of the time. The floor is concrete and often has marks from the heavy machinery we use. We don't have any fancy decor on the walls, just some calendars and safety charts. The noise from the neighboring units is constant, but you stop noticing it after the first hour. Our team at 5 J is small and we’ve mostly been working together for years. We know the machines and the processes inside out. Lunch is usually a quick affair in the small breakroom before we get back to the tasks at hand. It can get quite hot in the summer because the roof is metal, but we just keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through. It’s hard work, but we like being part of the industrial hub here on Ajwa Road.
