You can find Chawla Motors at No. 19 on 3rd Cross in Journalists Colony. It’s a bit of a quieter spot compared to the main roads, which we actually prefer. We have been working out of this space for a number of years. The garage is usually full of vehicles in various states of being fixed. We started small and just kept going, day by day. There is always the sound of tools clanking or an engine idling in the background. My cousins and I run the place together. We learned most of what we know just by doing it, over and over again. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room with a coffee machine. Usually, if you come by, you’ll find one of us under a hood or under a chassis. We just tell people to pull up and we’ll take a look when we have a spare minute. Sometimes we get backed up when three people show up at once, but everyone is usually patient. We keep a ledger of all the work we do, though the pages are sometimes a bit smudged with oil. It’s just how it goes in a motor shop. We like being in Journalists Colony because it feels like a real community. People stop by just to chat sometimes, even if their car is running fine. We’re just regular people trying to do a decent job with the tools we have.
