Our branch in Devanahalli Tq is situated out toward the edge of Bangalore, zip code 562110. It’s much quieter out here than in the city center, though that is changing fast with the airport nearby. Bharat Electronics Ltd has a good amount of space here, which is necessary for the kind of work we do. The air is a bit clearer, but the roads can get very dusty with all the new construction happening around us. The office itself is quite plain. We have the usual grey desks and standard office chairs. It’s a long commute for some of us, so the day starts early. We have a small area where we keep the kettle and some biscuits for the afternoon slump. There’s not much in terms of entertainment nearby, so we mostly stick to our work and chat during the breaks. The building is solid and functional. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because that's not what we are about. We focus on the technical details and making sure the inventory is correct. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just part of life here. It’s a practical place for people who actually like to get their hands dirty with work. We’ve grown fond of this quiet corner of the Bangalore rural district over time. It’s just our way of working.
