Bangalore Clothing Company

Down at 88/1 on Tavarekere Main Road, at Site No. 7 and 8, is where Bangalore Clothing Company is located. It is a busy part of the city with a lot of shops and traffic. Our building is right there on the main road, so we see everything that happens outside. Inside, it is a different story. It’s mostly the sound of sewing machines and people talking over the noise. We have rows of workstations where the clothes are put together piece by piece. There are piles of fabric scraps on the floor and spools of thread of every size on the racks. The air feels a bit warm because of the machines running all day. We have big fans on the ceiling to help with that. Our office is just a small corner partitioned off with some glass and wood. It’s where we keep the files and talk to the suppliers who come by. We don't spend money on fancy decorations because we’d rather have better equipment. The staff usually brings their own tiffins for lunch and we eat together in the back. Sometimes we have to work late when a big order is due, and the street outside finally gets quiet. It’s hard work, but we are used to the pace. We just focus on the garments and getting them finished.
