Africa Airconditioning

Being located in Vyalikaval Kumbharwada Lane 14 means we stay pretty busy with the local crowd. Africa Airconditioning isn't a huge operation, but we have enough tools and spare parts to handle the work that comes our way. The lane is a bit narrow, so it can be tricky for big trucks, but we manage. Most of our time is spent out on calls, fixing units that have stopped working because of the heat or the dust. It’s messy work sometimes, and our uniforms usually show it by the end of the shift. We’ve got a small workshop here where we test the compressors and clean out the filters. It’s often hot inside the shop too, which is ironic given what we do. We just focus on getting the cooling back for people who are stuck in the heat. There’s always a stack of old units in the corner waiting to be scrapped or fixed for parts. We don't spend much on decorations or making the place look pretty. It’s a practical space for practical work. The neighbors know us well, and we often help each other out when someone needs a tool or a hand with a heavy lift. It’s a steady life here on Lane 14. We just keep our heads down and do the work as it comes. No big fuss, just fixing what is broken and making sure it stays fixed for a while.
