Shiveerayat Foundation

Shiveerayat Foundation is based out of Akeshan, which is a small place in the Palanpur area of Banas Kantha. We are at House No. 502. It's not in the middle of a big city, which we actually prefer for the work we do. Most of the people around here are farmers or work in small shops. We started this because we wanted to have something local that actually helps the community. It's a modest setup. We don't have fancy computers or a big staff of employees. It's mostly just a couple of us who grew up in this district. The office is really just a room in the house where we keep our records and meet people who need something. Sometimes we have to travel a bit to reach the other villages in Banas Kantha, but Akeshan is our main base. Life moves at a different pace here compared to the big cities like Ahmedabad. We don't use big words or try to sound like we know everything. We just know our neighbors and we know what the problems are around here. We try to help out when things get tough. It’s hard work sometimes, especially when the weather is bad or the roads are rough, but we keep at it every day. We’ve been here a long time and we don't plan on going anywhere else. This is where we belong and this is where our work is. We just take it one person at a time.
