Sawan Tea Company

Our little setup for Sawan Tea Company is in the villages of Banas Kantha, specifically in the Deesa Taluka. We are right near the Mahadev Temple. You can hear the temple bells ringing throughout the day, which is a nice sound to work to. It’s a very rural area, so things move a bit slower here than they do in the big cities. We are mostly local people working together. Most of our neighbors are farmers or have small shops like ours. We don't have a big corporate structure or anything like that. It’s just a few of us making sure the tea is packed correctly and sent off to the local markets. The building we use is old, with thick walls that keep it relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the village. We spend a lot of time sitting on the porch talking to whoever stops by. It’s a community thing as much as a business. We know everyone’s name and their family history. We don't have a website or any of that stuff. We just rely on people knowing who we are and where to find us. It’s a quiet life, and we are happy with it. The tea we handle is just part of the daily routine for everyone around here. We often finish up early when the work is done and spend the evening with our families. It's a simple life but it's ours.
