Omkar Marble

Our place, Omkar Marble, is right on Dhaka Road. We are situated along the Palanpur Highway, which means there are always trucks and cars rushing past us all day long. Being near Ambaji Arts makes it easier for people to find where we are located. It’s a dusty spot because of all the construction and the traffic on the highway, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We spend our mornings checking the stock that came in and rearranging the blocks so there's enough room for the crane to move. The sun gets really bright out here on the highway. We keep a small office where we sit when it gets too hot outside. Most of the stone we have is sitting out in the open yard. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and making sure the pieces don't crack when we're shifting them around. We see a lot of people traveling toward Ambaji who stop in just to look at what we’ve got. We don’t do much fancy talking. We just show the slabs and tell them what’s available at the moment. It’s a simple operation really. Just some guys working with stone near the road. We’ve been at this location for a good bit of time now, and everyone around here knows the spot. It's just a regular yard with plenty of marble stacked up.
