Miyal Primary School

You can find us right on National Highway No 15 near Tharad. Being on the highway means there is always noise from the trucks passing by, but the kids are used to it by now. We are a primary school serving the Miyal area in Banaskantha. The school is a simple structure with a few rooms and a small yard for the children to play during their lunch break. It is a bit of a dusty spot, being in this part of the state, but we keep the place as clean as possible. The 385565 zip code is where most of our students come from. We do not have a big fence or a grand entrance, just a gate that stays open during the day. Sometimes the power goes out, so we just open the windows and keep going with the lessons. The teachers here are local folks who understand the way of life in Tharad. We do not have many fancy teaching aids, just books and a lot of talking. It is a basic setup for small children who are just starting out with their education. Life here is slow and moves at its own pace. We just try to make sure the kids show up on time and learn something before they head home to help their parents. It is a lot of work but it is what we do every day.
