We’ve been operating out of the Gidc Estate Chandisar for quite a long time now. Our exact spot is 114/55-56, and it’s a pretty busy area with a lot of other units nearby. If you walk past our doors, you’ll definitely notice the smell of the seeds being pressed. It’s a strong, earthy scent that sticks to your clothes. The main part of our day is spent around the heavy machinery. It gets quite loud, so we have to shout sometimes to be heard over the hum of the motors. We don't have any of those fancy modern offices you see in the city. Our space is filled with oil drums, bags of raw materials, and tools for keeping the equipment running. The floors are concrete and they've seen a lot of wear over the years. We spend a lot of time cleaning up spills because oil is a messy business. Every morning we start by checking the belts and the gears. If something isn't greased right, it makes a terrible screeching noise. Chandisar is an industrial hub, so there’s always a truck backing in or someone unloading something next door. We know the other business owners around here pretty well. We usually take our lunch breaks together in the small shade outside. It’s hot work, especially when the sun is beating down on the corrugated roof. We just focus on getting the oil out and into the containers. It’s a simple life but it keeps us busy from morning till night.
