Ekmi Micronized Minaral

The Gidc Estate is where you will find us, specifically at Plot No. 235/2. We deal with minerals here, so the first thing you notice when you walk in is the fine white dust that covers almost everything. It is just part of the job when you are micronizing things. We’ve got the grinders and the sifters going most of the day. It’s a rhythmic kind of noise that you get used to after a week or two. Ekmi Micronized Minaral is not a large company. We have a small crew of local guys who know how to handle the raw materials. We get the bags in, we process them, and then we stack the finished product ready for the trucks. Sometimes the weather makes it hard, like when it’s too humid and the powder wants to clump up, but we have our ways of dealing with that. We have been at this plot for a few years now. The office is just a small desk in the corner with a few ledgers and a telephone that rings more than I’d like. We don't spend money on fancy signs or advertising. Most people who need what we make already know we are here. It is plain work, but it pays the bills and keeps us busy. We take pride in the fact that when we say a bag is ready, it is actually ready. We usually have to sweep up the yard every evening because the wind blows the mineral dust everywhere.
