Dharmshibhai S. Patel

This business is run by Dharmshibhai S. Patel out of Plot No. 206 in the Gidc Estate. It’s basically a one-man show most days, though some help comes in when things get really piled up. The office is just a small corner of the main plot with an old wooden desk and a couple of chairs for visitors. We’ve been here for years, and the walls show it with all the scuff marks and old calendars. It’s a quiet place compared to some of the bigger factories nearby. Most of the work involves talking to suppliers and keeping track of the different jobs we have going on. It isn't a high-tech operation. We still use a lot of paper forms and hand-written notes because that’s how we’ve always done it. The Gidc Estate is a busy place, but once you step inside Plot 206, it’s a bit calmer. We don't put out flyers or anything. People who need us usually have the number already or they’ve been told where to find us by someone else in the trade. It's a practical way of doing business without all the extra noise. Every now and then the truck drivers get lost looking for the plot, so we have to go out to the main road to wave them in. It's just everyday life here, nothing special. We just try to be fair and do the work that comes our way without making things complicated.
