Balaji Gruh Udyog

Our workshop is in Village Amwa, which is in the Raipur Karchuliyan area. We are located near the Rit Engineering College, so we see a lot of students walking by every day. We do small-scale manufacturing and processing here, mostly things that can be done with a few simple machines and a lot of hand work. The building is a basic structure with a tin roof that makes a lot of noise when it rains. Inside, it is usually quite busy with people sorting through materials or packing up the finished products. We don't have a formal office space; we just use a small table in the corner for the accounts. It can get very dusty and hot during the summer months, but we keep the windows open for a breeze. We started this as a small home-based business and it has grown a bit over the years, but we still do everything ourselves. Most of our workers are from the surrounding village. We don't have a big brand name or anything like that. We just focus on making the items and getting them sent out to the local markets. It is a lot of repetitive work, but it keeps the family busy and provides for us. We also have a small storage area for the raw materials we buy every month. We just take things one day at a time here.
