Shri Mahmaya Rice Mill sits right off NH 200 in the Block Baloda area of Lachhanpur. Being near the Reliance Petrol Pump helps people give directions, since everyone knows where that is. We’ve been processing paddy here for quite some time. The trucks come and go all day, kicking up dust along the highway. It’s a loud place when the milling equipment is running full tilt, so we usually have to shout to hear each other over the engines. We handle the local harvests, turning the raw grain into something people can actually cook. The warehouse gets pretty hot in the summer months, but that’s the nature of the job. We aren't some massive corporation with a shiny logo. It’s just a mill on the side of the road where we work hard every day. We’ve had the same crew for a while now, and they know the machines inside and out. Sometimes a belt breaks or a screen gets clogged, and we have to stop everything to fix it ourselves. It’s hands-on work. We don’t spend money on fancy brochures or websites. Most of our business comes from the farmers who have been coming to us for years. We just keep our heads down and get the rice bagged up. If you're driving down NH 200, you'll see our sign. It’s a bit faded now, but it still gets the job done.
