Pragatikiran Nidhi Limited

We are based out of Ballia, in a village called Bairia. The office is at Vinod Kumar Gupta’s place, right in the heart of the community. Pragatikiran Nidhi Limited is very much a local thing, and being in Bairia means we are close to the people we serve. The address is quite simple, just a house in the village where we've set up our workspace. It’s not a polished office with glass doors; it’s more like a room where you’d sit and have a conversation. We spend a lot of time on our paperwork, making sure all the entries for the members are recorded correctly in the books. Ballia has a very specific feel to it, and we try to match that by being approachable and plain-spoken. People drop in throughout the day, sometimes just to check a balance or to ask how things are going. We have our chairs set out and there’s usually someone around to help. The environment is very informal, which seems to suit everyone just fine. We don't use big words or complicated processes. Everything is done right there on the desk where you can see it. It can get quite hot in the summer, so we keep the windows open for whatever breeze comes through. It’s just us, a few desks, and a lot of record-keeping for the folks in and around Bairia.
