Lokhit Amar Council

You can find us in Sikandarpur, over in the Lilkar area. We operate out of Komal Mishra’s place. It’s right near the Shiv Mandir, so it is quite easy to spot if you are looking for it. Being here in Ballia, things move at a different pace than the big cities. Lokhit Amar Council is what we call ourselves, but to most folks around here, we are just the neighbors they see every day. The office isn't much to look at. We have some basic furniture and a lot of paperwork piled up. It gets dusty because of the road, but we try to keep it tidy enough. People from the village come by when they have something on their minds. We listen to them and see if we can help out. There’s no big staff or anything like that. It’s just us. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside in the shade of the temple trees to talk. It’s practical work. We don’t have a website or anything polished. We just write things down in our registers. The weather in Uttar Pradesh can be tough, especially in the summer, but we stay open as much as we can. It’s just how things are done here in Sikandarpur. We don't have any grand plans, just staying busy with the daily tasks that need doing for the people around Lilkar and the surrounding countryside.
