Even though the name says Kotla Hydro Power Pvt Ltd, Noida, our actual office for this branch is in Village and Post Janari. That is in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. It is a rural setting, which is quite different from what people expect when they hear Noida. We are right in the middle of the village area. The office is a simple building, nothing more than what is needed to get the work done. We deal with people from the village and workers coming in from the nearby towns. It can get quite hot in the summer, so we have a few fans going all day. Life here moves at its own speed. We do not have fancy corporate meetings. We just sit around a table and figure out the day’s logistics. There is a lot of paperwork because of the nature of the power business, but we try not to let it overwhelm us. The local kids sometimes play outside the gates. It is a very grounded place to work. We are part of the community here in Janari. We do our bit, manage the projects, and make sure everything is in order. It is not a glamorous life, but it is real. We value being accessible to the local people who come by with questions or looking for work. We usually lock up once the sun goes down and the village gets quiet.
