Jagat Janani Foundation

If you’re looking for the Jagat Janani Foundation, we are down in Ballia, specifically in the village of Bari. We are located in the South Barki area, at the house of Shree Deochandra Thakur’s son. It’s a real village setting, far away from the noise of big cities. Life here moves slowly, and so does the work at the foundation. We don’t have computers in every room or high-speed internet that works all the time. Most of our work is done by hand or through talking to people face-to-face. The office is really just a part of the family home where we’ve set aside some space for our papers and meetings. Ballia can get very hot in the summer, so we usually start our work early in the morning before it gets too uncomfortable. People from Bari and the nearby villages know where to find us. They just walk up to the house and ask for us. We don’t have a fancy reception desk or anything like that. It is just a very plain, honest setup. We’ve been part of this community for a long time, and the foundation is just an extension of the work the family has always done around here. We spend our time checking on local projects and making sure things are moving along as they should. It’s not glamorous, but it is the way we’ve always operated in this part of South Barki.
