Bhrigukripa Microfinance Foundation

Bhrigukripa Microfinance Foundation is out in Girdhar Pokhra, which is part of Rasra in Ballia. Shailesh Kumar Dubey and Rasnath Dubey are usually around the office. We are located near the police station area. It is a very rural setting, and we are right in the middle of it. Our office is a simple structure. We deal with microfinance, which mostly means we talk to locals about their small projects and needs. There is a lot of coming and going throughout the day. People from the nearby villages stop by quite often. We have a few plastic chairs for them to sit on while we talk. The floor is concrete and we keep it swept, but some dirt always finds its way in. We don't have air conditioning, just the breeze from the open door and a small desk fan. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from morning until sunset. We use notebooks as much as we use the computer because sometimes the electricity is unreliable. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. Word travels by mouth around here. We are just local people trying to help other local people manage their finances. It’s a straightforward life. We know the names of most people who walk through our door. The atmosphere is very informal. We just do what needs to be done for the community here in Ballia. It is just us here every day working through the paperwork and talk.
