Veerabhadra Swamy Kirana Store

If you are walking down Navali Road in Karatagi, you will see our shop at number 11/523. Veerabhadra Swamy Kirana Store has been a part of this street for a long time now. We stock the usual things people need for their kitchens like rice, oil, and lentils. The shelves are always a bit crowded because we try to fit a lot into a small space. It can get a bit cramped when three or four people are inside at once. I usually spend most of my day behind the wooden counter weighing out items for customers. Karatagi is a busy place during market days and we see a lot of faces then. We don't use any fancy computer systems, just a notebook and a pen to keep track of things. My son helps me out in the evenings after he finishes his studies. We try to keep the shop clean but with the sacks of grain, there is always a bit of dust. The door stays open to let some air in since it gets hot in the afternoons. It is not a supermarket, just a regular kirana store for the folks living nearby. Most of our regulars live just a few houses down the road. We stay open until late evening most days of the week. It is just how we have always done things here.
