Sandur Charitable Foundation

Our office is right at Shop Number 1 on K T Road in Sandur. If you're looking for us, we’re right beside the HRG Petrol Bunk. It's a handy spot because everyone knows where the bunk is. Sandur Charitable Foundation isn't a massive charity with lots of staff. It’s just a couple of us working out of this small shop space. The noise from the petrol station and the trucks on K T Road is something we’ve just gotten used to over the years. We keep the door open most days to let some air in. Inside, it's pretty basic—just some desks, a few chairs for visitors, and stacks of records. We mostly help people in the Bellary area with whatever problems they bring to our door. Sometimes it’s food, sometimes it’s help with forms, or just pointing them in the right direction. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just come by because they’ve heard we’re here. It’s a bit dusty being so close to the road, but we try to keep the place tidy. Working in Sandur means we see the same faces every day. We’ve been here long enough that we feel like part of the furniture. We don’t look for any credit; we just handle the work as it comes. It’s a simple way to spend the day, helping out where there’s a need. If we're not inside, we're probably just out back having a quick break. We don't use much technology, just pens and paper mostly.
