About Ambika Rice Mill – Food & Beverages in Ballari
Out on Snd Road in Siruguppa, you will find Ambika Rice Mill. It’s a place where the machines are usually humming away from morning till night. We take the paddy from the local farmers around the district and process it here. It’s a lot of manual work and the air is always full of that specific smell of husks and grain. We started this mill because there was a need for it in this part of the taluka. It isn't a high-tech operation with flashing lights; it is more about old machines that need a bit of grease and attention to keep running right. The floors are usually covered in a bit of dust, and the staff is always busy loading or unloading sacks. We have our good days and bad days, especially when the rain messes with the drying process. That’s just part of the rice business. People around here know where we are. We don't spend much time on decorations or looking fancy. We just focus on getting the rice ready so it can go out to the markets. It’s hard work, and by the end of the day, everyone is pretty tired. But we show up again the next morning and start the engines back up to do it all over again. The district is big, but word travels fast when the grain is moving, so we stay fairly occupied through most of the harvest seasons for the local community.
