S. Kumar Aluminium & Glass

Our little shop, S. Kumar Aluminium & Glass, is located at FCA 19 on 100 Foot Road. We are very close to the Gayatri Mandir, so you can often hear the bells and the sounds from the temple while we are working. The 100 Foot Road is always busy, which keeps us on our toes. We spend our days cutting glass to size and putting together aluminum frames for windows and doors. It is a lot of measuring and double-checking because even a small mistake means the glass won't fit right. The shop is filled with scraps of metal and glass off-cuts that we haven't cleared out yet. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, but it’s where we work. I’ve been doing this for years and it’s just what I know. We don't have a big staff, just a few people who have learned the trade over time. Most of our customers are locals who are fixing up their homes or builders working on nearby projects. We don't do much in the way of promotion; we just rely on people seeing our sign as they head toward the mandir. It is a steady life and we enjoy being part of the neighborhood. We just focus on the glass and the frames and try to get everything out the door as it's needed. We'll be here tomorrow morning if you're passing by the temple.
