S. M Nells

Our small place, S. M Nells, is located in Manipur Village. We are quite close to the Soro Tehsil in the Baleshwar District. It is a rural area, so life moves at a different pace out here compared to the big cities. We mostly provide things that the local farmers and villagers need for their daily work. It might be simple tools or supplies for the house, but we try to keep a bit of everything so people don't have to travel all the way into the main town too often. The shop itself is just a modest building on the side of the road. We don't have a lot of fancy signs or lights. Usually, people just know we are here because they pass by on their way to the fields. I spend a lot of time talking to the folks who stop in, mostly about the weather or how the crops are doing this season. It’s more of a community hub than a high-pressure business environment. We keep our prices as fair as we can because we know everyone in the village personally. Sometimes the stock takes a while to arrive from the bigger distributors in Baleshwar, but we manage. There is no corporate structure here, just me and a helper making sure the shelves aren't empty. It’s a quiet life, but it feels good to provide something useful to the people we live next to in Manipur.
