Arjun Spices

Arjun Spices is located in Taluka Soro within the Balasore district. We are a small operation that focuses on getting spices ready for the local kitchens around here. The work is mostly about sorting through raw materials and making sure they are clean before they get processed. It is a very hands-on job. The smell of pepper and cardamom is always hanging in the air around our place. Sometimes it makes us sneeze when we are moving the large bags around. We don't have any fancy technology. Most of the work is done with simple tools and a lot of manual labor. My family helps out with the daily tasks. We have a small yard where we dry some of the items when the sun is out in Balasore. If it rains, we have to scramble to get everything under the roof. It is a lot of physical work and we are usually tired by the end of the day. We don't really have a front shop, it is more of a workspace where people come to pick up bulk orders. We have been doing this in Taluka Soro for a few years now. The equipment is a bit old and needs oiling often. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for the local vendors. It is an honest way to make a living and we stay busy enough.
