You can find Agrawal Rice Mill right over by Adanga Bazaar. We are sitting near N.H.-5, so there is always noise from the traffic passing by. Being close to the highway makes it convenient for the trucks to pull in and out. Soro is our local post office and we’ve been part of the Balasore district for many years. It's a family-run kind of thing. We don't have fancy titles or big meetings. We just get the work done. The mill is usually a hub of activity from dawn until it gets dark. We deal with a lot of different people every day. Some days are slower than others, but there is always maintenance to do. My uncle started this a long time ago and we just kept it going. The location in the bazaar means we see a lot of familiar faces. It’s a dusty job, and your clothes always smell like grain by the end of the shift. We don’t use any marketing tricks. If the rice is handled right, people come back. That is how it has always worked for us. We just focus on the day-to-day tasks like unloading and bagging. It’s a noisy place when the engines are going, but we are used to it by now. Just a regular business on the side of the road in Balasore.
