M/S Ambika Pharmaceuticals

Down in Baleshwar, you’ll find M/S Ambika Pharmaceuticals. We’re located right near the Baleshwar School, so our days are marked by the school bell ringing. In the mornings, there’s a lot of noise from kids running around and parents dropping them off. By the time they’re in class, the street quiets down and we can get to work sorting out our pharmaceutical shipments. The shop is an old style building with high ceilings and heavy wooden counters that have been here since the start. Baleshwar is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business, so we spend a lot of time just chatting with people who walk through the door. We aren't a big corporation; we’re just a small agency trying to make sure the local shops have what they need. Sometimes the school kids come in asking for a glass of water or just to see what we’re doing. We keep a lot of our records in big paper ledgers because the computer is a bit temperamental. It’s a bit of a trek for the delivery trucks to get here from the main highway, so we always have to plan our orders way in advance. The shop can get a bit stuffy in the afternoons, but we usually open the back window to get some air from the garden. It’s a steady way to live, and we like being part of the Baleshwar community near the school.
