Arpita Beach Resort

Down here at Sonapur in Chandipur, the air always smells like the sea. Arpita Beach Resort is right by the water, nothing too complicated. We’ve got the rooms set up for people who want to see the beach. It’s a quiet place mostly, except when the tide comes in or out. We spend a lot of time cleaning sand out of the lobby because it gets everywhere. That’s just part of being at the coast. The staff here are mostly local folks from around Sonapur. We handle the cooking, the cleaning, and the front desk ourselves. If a lightbulb goes out, one of us fixes it. It isn't like those huge hotels in the big cities. We keep things simple. The garden needs a lot of work because the salt air is tough on the plants, but we try to keep it green. Guests usually come to see the tide go out for miles, which is what Chandipur is famous for. We make sure there is tea and some food ready when they get back. Sometimes the power goes out during a storm, and we have to get the lanterns. It’s just how life goes by the ocean. We don’t have fancy uniforms or anything. We just wear what’s comfortable for the heat. Arpita Beach Resort is just a place to stay while you’re visiting the beach. It’s been here for some time now and we just keep it going.
