Arati Organic

If you walk down Fakir Mohan Road in Azimabad, you’ll find us easily enough. We’ve been running Arati Organic from this spot for some time. It is not a huge operation, just a few of us handling the daily tasks. We spend most of our mornings moving bags around and checking the stock that comes in from the local growers. Everything is a bit dusty, and the air usually smells like dried herbs or earth, depending on what we just unpacked. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow parts of the road, which makes for a loud morning while everyone figures out how to back up. We don't really do the flashy advertising thing. Most folks who come in are regulars from around Azimabad who know we are here. We spend a good chunk of the day just sorting through things by hand, making sure nothing is spoiled or bruised. It’s quiet work for the most part, except for the noise from the street outside. Our shelves are sturdy but they’ve seen better days, and the floor always needs a sweep because of the bits of soil that fall off the produce. We just like doing things the old way, without too much fuss. It takes time to get things right, and we aren't in a massive rush. We open up early, drink some tea, and get to work until the sun goes down.
