Smeltechcarbons is located right near the Durga Mandap in Swadhin Para. Titilagarh is where we call home, and if you’re from Bolangir, you probably know the area. We work with carbon, which is messy and black and gets on everything you touch. Gadadhar Taria is the one who keeps things moving here. We aren't a big, clean factory; it’s more of an industrial spot where the work is manual and the days are long. It’s quite hot near the equipment, especially during the summer months in Orissa. We have a small group of guys who have been with us for years. We don't talk much about growth or big corporate ideas. We just focus on getting the product out and making sure the quality is what it needs to be. The neighborhood is fairly quiet except for the sounds of our work. Being near the Mandap is nice because there’s always something happening during the festivals. We might take a break then to go see the celebrations. It’s a practical life. We get our hands dirty, we finish the orders, and then we go home to our families. We don’t spend money on advertising or fancy signs. People know where to find us if they need carbon products. It’s just how we’ve always done it here in Titilagarh, and we are fine with being a small, local operation in the 767033 area.
