If you walk down Bhatera Road in Balaghat, you will find our shop near the H O and the main hospital area. Paru Medicals Stores has been a fixture here for quite some time. We stay open pretty late because being near the hospitals means people are always looking for something at odd hours. It is a small space but we pack a lot into it. Balaghat is the kind of place where you know your neighbors, so many of our customers are people we see every week. We don’t have a big corporate setup. It is just a local store where we keep the medicines people need most. Sometimes the road gets muddy during the monsoon and it slows things down, but the shop stays busy. We handle a lot of prescriptions from the Balaghat hospital doctors. I spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates and making sure everything is in the right bin. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day. My family helps out when it gets crowded in the evenings. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a medicine is expensive, we tell people clearly. We don’t do big advertisements or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been on Bhatera Road for years. It’s a lot of hard work but it feels good when someone finds what they were looking for and goes home happy.
