Yagyesh Foundation

Our office is at number 33 in Jirabasti-1, specifically in the Girija Nagarkaloni area. If you live around Jirabasti, you probably know where that is. We call ourselves the Yagyesh Foundation and mostly we just spend our days trying to help out where we can. It is a small team and we work out of a regular house, so it doesn't feel like a big business or anything like that. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist, usually one of us just answers the door if we aren't out in the neighborhood. People stop by to talk about things going on in the colony or just to ask for some help with paperwork and local issues. It gets a bit noisy sometimes because there are always kids playing outside and the street is fairly active. We have a couple of old desks and some chairs for visitors. We’ve been working from this spot for a while now and everyone knows the address. It’s not a complicated setup. We just do what needs doing every day and try to keep things organized. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait it out, but that’s just how it is here. Most of our work comes from just talking to people and finding out what the community needs. It is a humble place but it serves us well for what we do here in Jirabasti. It feels right being located right in the middle of everything.
