Our office and workspace are located on Baidyabati Station Road (West). We are in the Hooghly district, under the Serampore police station area. Being so close to the station means there is a constant flow of people and rickshaws going past. The building we are in has been around for a while, and it has that old feel you get in this part of Bengal. We spend our days managing the accounts and the stock that comes through. The humidity here can be quite high, so we have to make sure everything is stored in a way that it doesn't get damaged. It’s a lot of manual recording and moving boxes around the storage area. We have a few regular people who help us with the loading. The noise from the trains and the station announcements is always in the background. We aren't trying to be anything big, just a local business handling our daily tasks. Some days the rain makes things difficult, and we have to move fast to keep the stock dry. We know the other shop owners on the road and often chat with them during the slower hours. It’s a simple routine of opening up, checking the orders, and making sure the crates are where they need to be. It’s just how things have been done here for a long time. That’s about all there is to it.
