Prachin Manavadhikar Council

We are located over at C/O Bipin Kumar Gupta in the Teprah area of Gambhirwa, which is part of Risiya near Nanpara. It’s a bit of a trek to get here if you aren’t from around the district, but we’ve been at this spot for a while. The council is mostly focused on human rights issues that pop up in the local villages and nearby towns. We don’t have a big staff, just a few dedicated people who know the area well. The office is tucked away, and sometimes the mail gets delayed because the address is a bit specific. Bipin Kumar Gupta’s place is where everything happens. We spend a lot of time listening to stories from people who feel they’ve been treated unfairly. It isn't always easy work, and there is a lot of listening involved. We drink a lot of water and tea during the hot afternoons while going through documents. We don't have a website with flashy photos or anything. We just use the space we have to organize meetings and talk to folks. Nanpara can be quite busy on market days, which affects how many people show up. We try to be available as much as possible for anyone who needs to discuss their rights or local problems. It’s a humble setup, but it serves the purpose for the people around Gambhirwa and Teprah. We just take things as they come.
